Assessment of channel capacity for river Sanna to Wierzchowiska Pierwsze gauge with identification of retention areas
Expertise study; 2022
The project goal was to assess the Sanna basin capabilities to stor heavy rain water, to increase flood security of Wierzchowiska Pierwsze town. Project included:
- channel, culverts and bridges profiling;
- design rainfall calculation (three scenarios);
- hypothetical runoff modeling;
- 2D basin modeling in current conditions under design rainfall (HEC-RAS 2D);
- dry reservoir locations propositions and impact modeling;
- flood-security recommendations for district authorities.
Implementation of investments in the field of green and blue infrastructure in cities
Expert reviewer; 2020-2021
The project focused on final level evaluation of the applications for co-financing in the calls for “Implementation of investments in the field of green and blue infrastructure in cities” financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014 – 2021 for the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Projects presented proposals for green and blue infrastructure development and investments in cities, to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Initiatives provided high level of technical details and engineering plans for the infrastructure to be developed in the cities and close environments. Proposals were assessed by their level of applicability, promotion of climate friendly cities, feasibility and technical correctness, significance and long-term utility. Program funds: 156 million Euro (€).


The awareness-raising activities carried out by schools on mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects
Expert reviewer; 2020-2021
The project focused on final level evaluation of the applications for financing educational activities for “The awareness-raising activities carried out by schools on mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects” financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014 – 2021 for the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Projects presented proposals for educational activities in primary, middle and high level schools, carried out in collaboration with external organizations. Proposals were assessed by their climate knowledge promotion, interactivity with students, application and significance. Program funds: 156 million Euro (€).
Assessment of the capacity of the Czechówka and Czerniejówka river channels in the conditions of urban
anthropopressure in the Lublin area
Expertise study; 2020
The project focus was to assess the capacity of two city river channels under anthropopressure, and involved:
- channels profiling and normal conditions flow measures (manual with hydrometric mill);
- channels conditions assessment;
- points of water drop identification;
- channels modeling (HEC-RAS);
- inlets / outlets, bridges and culverts capacity assessment taking into account current permits for rainwater discharge;
- identification of area under high risk of flooding.


Preparation of a rainfall model for areas at risk of flooding in the Świdnik city
Expertise study; 2018
The project focused on determining design rainfall with probability of occurrence and specified duration time for the area of Świdnik city and included:
- application of different theoretical rainfall models;
- distribution modeling for observed series;
- computation of the amount of runoff into the storm sewer during design rainfalls;
- identification of inlets posing flooding risks due to capacity limitations.
